Team Yahooo support video

Andrew and Fiona, from Illabo NSW, put this video together to promote sponsorship for their team Yahooo, with 100% of the funds raise going to the RFDS. Yahooo raised over $20,000 last event and we hope they can do the same again this time! Special thanks to Tony Mitchell (from The Three Amigos) for the soundtrack.

Race Planning Update - Chinwag #2

The Outback Air Race committee invites you to attend the second race update, held at the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia, 7pm, on Tuesday the 14th April 2015.

The committee will provide an update aspects of the race, including sponsorship progress, accommodation, events, fundraising and more. As with the previous event we will distribute a newsletter to those interstate or unable to attend.

We are fortunate to have Richard Woldendorp, renowned aerial photographer, attending on the night and presenting to us his tips and tricks on how to take your best photographs enroute. If you haven’t seen his previous work, you can see samples of his photos here!

Catering will be provided and the bar will be open.

All are welcome!

True Blue - Bunbury Aero Club Open Day

The week before last, Malcolm and Rachel flew their RV-7 down for the Bunbury Aero Club open day and rattled the RFDS tin. They managed to come away with over $500! Tricky crosswinds down in Bunbury too which makes for an entertaining landing! They have posted the video below:

True Blue Rattle Tin - Whitford City Shopping Centre

Malcolm and Rachel from team True Blue will be at Whitford City Shopping Centre, WA, this weekend (28th / 29th March) with a static display and rattle tins for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Ironically, they expect to be placed near the flight centre entrance! If you are in the area please stop by, they would love to see you.

Team ATOM RFDS Auction at Greenhills Inn / 25 July 2015

Team ATOM, Alan and Jo, from Beverly WA, are receiving a lot of support from local suppliers for their auction night at Greenhills Inn, 25th July 2015. ATOM's Facebook page shows some of the goods they have started collecting, including stereo sets, tools and a lawn mower! Alan and Jo have set themselves a fundraising target of $20,000 which, after speaking to Alan on the phone and hearing of their efforts, appears to be easily within their reach. Greenhills Inn is also supporting team ATOM with a "fly money" game - more details on their Facebook page.
 

Chinwag Newsletter #1 - Feb 2015

Our first Newsletter for 2015 is now available to view - click HERE. The newsletter provides an update on race planning progress and is a summary of the Chinwag event held at Jandakot airport on 23rd Feb 2015, for those that were unable to attend.

We were excited to see that Rob and Chook, from team Mellow Yellow, flew 300NM+ up from Esperance, including dodging thunderstorms, to come see us.

Reminder and update: Chinwag #1

A reminder that Chinwag #1 will be held this coming Tuesday at 7pm the Royal Aero Club of WA, Jandakot. We can now confirm that in addition to race talk, Michael Bleus, Chief Pilot from the Royal Flying Doctor Service of WA, will present to us his experiences and tips for outback flying.

The bar will be open and finger food provided.

As mentioned previously, for those that are unable to attend, we will keep you updated via race newsletter.

Race Planning Update - Chinwag #1

We welcome participants, friends and interested parties to join us on the 24th February for an update on race planning for the 2015 Outback Air Race, from 7pm at the Royal Aero Club of WA, Jandakot. Please see attached flier. In addition to race talk, we will also be inviting a guest speaker that will help you get the most out of your race (be it photography, bush mechanics, meteorology), which we will confirm closer to the night. For those that are interstate or unable to attend, we are arranging alternative methods to keep you updated, which will at least include a newsletter that we will distribute shortly after the night.

The Royal Aero Club will keep the bar open for us, and some food will be provided.

We can see many of you have already kicked off your fundraising campaigns which we are very excited to see! We look forward to seeing you there.
