The Outback Air Race is excited to announce The Lottery Office as their major sponsor for the 2022 event. The Lottery Office is an Australian owned lottery provider that donates a portion of profits to Australian charities and has allocated over $1,000,000 to charitable causes over the last three years.
The Outback Air Race raises much-needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service with over $3.5 million being donated from this triennial event since it began in 1996. It is Australia’s most successful and enduring air safari and in 2018 this volunteer-run event was successful in several categories at the Australian Event Awards.
The 2022 The Lottery Office Outback Air Race will see teams from WA, ACT, NSW, Qld and Vic meet in Darwin for the start of the race on the 29th of August and spend the next 13 days flying to various locations ending with the finale in Coffs Harbour on the 11th September, 2022.
Stuart Payne, Race Manager for the Outback Air Race said “We are thrilled to have The Lottery Office on board as Principal Sponsor of the 2022 Outback Air Race and look forward to working closely with them. Their generous sponsorship and support will further ensure that we deliver an excellent event that generates very significant funds for the RFDS”
The Lottery Office CEO Jaclyn Wood said “Our organisation has a proud history of regularly donating a portion of profits to Australian Charities, as an Australian owned lottery provider, we want to help a great Australian legacy like RFDS continue”.
Each year the Royal Flying Doctor Service helps over 370,000 patients, conducts 18,000 remote clinics and flies over 27 million km per year. The RFDS has been operating for over 92 years.
The Lottery Office Outback Air Race will be calling into nine locations from Darwin to Cooinda, Adels Grove, Karumba, Undara, Shute Harbour, Gladstone, Roma and Goondiwindi before finishing in Coffs Harbour.
